God Doesn't Care, Acts 10:34-43
Reading and Commenting on the Book of Acts
Read Acts 10:34-43
God doesn't care where you're from. He doesn't care whether the rich or the poor have raised you. He doesn't care how smart you are or how tall you are. He doesn't care how good-looking you are or how strong. He flat out does not care!
He doesn't care if you've been involved with the Baptists, Presbyterians, Methodists, Non-denominational Movements, Pentecostals, Catholics, Charismatics, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Cults, Satanism, Agnostics, Atheists, etc., he first and foremost cares about your fellowship and relationship with him.
That's really good news! It's good news that God doesn't pick the "best" and the "brightest" - at least for me, that's a relief. God shows no partiality.
He does not have favorites. He looks directly at your heart.
God doesn't even care about your past as long as it has caused you to run into his arms of forgiveness and love. It's true; God has offered forgiveness for sin to all people of every nation. But his forgiveness must be received; it's not automatically applied.
His forgiveness is received by having enough healthy fear (respect, trust, loyalty, and awe) for God to accept his offer of forgiveness by placing your trust in the life, death, resurrection, and promise of Jesus Christ.
We need to be forgiven because we have all misused the freedom and power God has given to each of us. But forgiveness always has a price attached to it. To forgive, one has to be willing to absorb the damage caused by someone else.
Jesus Christ absorbed the damage of our sin by becoming a man (the 2nd Adam), living a perfect life, willingly suffer death in our place, and overcoming sin and death through his resurrection.
The offer of forgiveness and eternal life is now on the table. It becomes effective when you accept it by asking Christ to be the one to stand in your place and to mysteriously become the day-to-day director of your life. One day, you and I will be reunited with him in a new heaven and a new earth.
God does care about you.
