Get-Away

This past weekend, my bride and I went away for a break and a celebration of a certain goal accomplished. We couldn't believe the thousands of people attending the events. I heard a person say, "people are coming out for simple events more than ever as a relief for all the stress and bad news we have been experiencing." I had two simple thoughts after hearing that comment: 1) I agree and I am happy for these kinds of outlets. I enjoyed watching people laugh and enjoy each other - perhaps they could have backed down a bit on the beer. 2) I wish we as Americans would turn back to the Lord. His judgment may be sure but his mercy outruns anything we might do to dishonor him.
